Taught by Drury Brennan:
Drury Brennan has been an artist for as long as he can remember: when he was 4, he reinvented himself as a fashion designer called Vincent Spontanio (his first collection of avant-garde footwear, although critically acclaimed by the toy press, was a commercial flop). Raised in Los Angeles but now based in Berlin, Drury seeks to continually combine elements of the ethereal with the semi-permanent: to use static aesthetic systems as a way to record the fleeting and gestural. He’s worked professionally as a photographer, musician, ceramicist, journalist and, most recently, a calligrapher, teaching several workshops at the TYPO Berlin and the Akademia Sztuk Pieknych w Gdansku in Gdansk, Poland.
His calligraphic works have been shown in China, India, Denmark, Germany and the USA, with his first international museum solo exhibition held last year at the Chicago Cultural Center. Also an avid yogi and meditator, Drury strives to bring the peace and awareness he finds on his path to his instruction and practice, and yours too.
