21st March – 13th April
every Monday and Wednesday
7:30pm – 9:30pm
(excluding Monday 28th March – 7 x sessions in total)

Learn how to draft and make your own bespoke underbust corset.

The workshop is suitable for male corsetry as well as female corsetry!

In this workshop participants will learn the skills required to draft and make a classic corset.

Join professional Corsetière Emma as she takes you through the materials and tools, pattern drafting, construction methods, and hand finishing techniques required to draft a corset from scratch. At the end of the class each student will go home with a corset that has been specifically tailored to them, that they have made, as well as a pattern they can use again and again and the skills to draft and make corsets for anyone.

Students will also receive a booklet with all of the information that was covered during the course.

This class is suitable for intermediate sewers. You need to be familiar with basic sewing machine stitches and be able to make basic garments such as a dress or a skirt. You don’t need pattern drafting or corsetry experience.

All materials required to make the corset are included.
Students will however need to bring a pencil, paper for note taking, a tape measure, and fabric scissors.

Taught by Emma Capponi

Emma Capponi is the founder of the corset brand Emma’s Corsets. With over 10 years of experience in dressmaking and corsetry, across a broad range of styles and historical eras, you are in safe hands as you begin your own corset-making journey. Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Emma never really grew out of playing dress-ups. Learning dressmaking from the age of 15 and corsetry from 17, Emma has been obsessed with corsetry and costume from a young age. After making corsets for a few years, Emma founded ‘Emma’s Corsets’, a corsetry shop that provided both ready-to-wear corsets, as well as bespoke creations. Emma’s design experience ranges through historical reproductions, burlesque, fetish, drag, fashion, and bridal corsetry.

€350 All materials required to make the corset are included.
