ESDIP International Art School was created in 1983 in Madrid, aiming to provide the best training for students interested artistic professions.
Over the last 30 years, ESDIP grew to become one of the most prestigious art institutes in Europe, and has produced thousands of illustrators and graphic artists.


Our educational team in Berlin consists of more than ten teachers, profesional creatives and artists who share with our students the knowledge they have acquired throughout their professional career. SARA VERA LECARO's works are mostly fashion and beauty related. She began as a self-taught artist from an early age, she studied Graphic Design, and worked as Art Director for several years in well known Agencies. Achieving international awards such as Cannes Lions, Effie Awards, Clio, and others. She decided to major her techniques in Fine Arts and Fashion, studying a Master in Fashion Design at IED Barcelona. Starting as freelance Artist. Her artworks have been published in several magazines, blogs, art exhibitions, and also in the “New Fashion Illustration” book from CYPI Press publishers. Her inspiration is mostly taken from fashion, movies and fairytales, exploring techniques between hand-detailed pencil, digital elements, watercolor and markers.

JORGE CHAMORRO is a graphic designer, teacher and artist.
Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 1995, he worked for ten years as a graphic designer in several studios and agencies.
In 2005 he starts to work independently, developing, up to now, communication projects for different clients and personal projects.
He produced his first collage collection in 2006, and it has since become an irreplaceable artform. His collage work is always analog, without digital manipulation, using only photographs from books and magazines, scissors and glue.
Since 2010 he teaches graphic design, typography, visual identity and collage.
His work has been exhibited and published several times nationally and internationally.
Since 2013 he lives and works in Berlin and Madrid. 

› SARAH KILCOYNE Sarah Kilcoyne is a classically trained artist from Ireland. She studied Fine Art for four years in the Limerick College of Art and Design, specialising in the study of oil painting, portraiture, figure drawing and anatomy. These days, she resides in Berlin, and combines her work as a visual artist with teaching, both group and private classes. She has exhibited in many shows between Ireland and Germany, and currently paints in a studio in Berlin, Friedrichshain.

› RAFA ÁLVAREZ is an award-winning Spanish illustrator living and working in Berlin.
After spending some years working as Communications Manager for an American multinational in Spain, he moved to New York to focus on his art career. He graduated at the highly selective School of Visual Arts with a Master in Illustration as Visual Essay and started to work for magazines and book publishers around the globe. As of today, his work can be seen regularly on the pages of Sports Illustrated, ESPN, The New York Times, Süddeutsche Zeitung or the Star Tribune as well as in advertising campaigns for Apple, Bloomberg and many others.
His has been featured in Illustration Now! vol. 5 and has recently been awarded by American Illustration 35 (selected for annual), Society of News Design 2017 (Silver medal), World Illustration Awards (finalist) Illustrative Berlin (finalist), Creative Quarterly, 3x3 Contemporary Illustration, International Motion Arts and Behance (winner of Talent Search 2013 in field illustration). On top of his work as freelancer, he teaches illustration workshops on demand and illustrates a series of social comics for Housing Works, a New York based non-profit.

› SUZANNE FORBES is a traditional figurative artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. She has worked as a courtroom artist for CBS and CNN and as the monthly penciller for DC Comics’ Star Trek comic book. Nowadays she teaches drawing at ESDIP in Friedrichshain and works as a live drawing documentarian. She goes around Berlin and draws people doing things, always committed to diversity and visibility for queer, goth and alternative culture.

CHRISTIAN SCHÄRMER is Cofounder and Art Director of the design studio PROXI.ME and publisher of SCHLUCK, a juicy winemagazine. He has lectured since 2005 at major institutions about visual systems and similar topics both at home and abroad and has been Head of Department for Editorial Design at Elisava (Universitad de Pompeu Fabra) in Barcelona.
PROXI.ME develops graphic solutions predominantly for architecture, fashion, art and food as well as publications for publishers and clients big and small such as La Biennal de Vencia, Centre de Cultura Contemporania de Barcelona (CCCB), Design Museum Barcelona (DHUB), Gestalten Verlag, Birkhäuser/Actar, ElBulli, UNStudio, Goethe Institut or Fundación Mies Van der Rohe.
With a background as studied chef he further acts as an external Creative Director for Contemporary Food Lab in Berlin and the creative agency Wineadventures, specialized in marketing for wine and other liver joys.
He currently lives and works in Berlin with one foot in Barcelona.


EVELINE VAN DE GRIEND lives and works in The Netherlands and Berlin, Germany.
Eveline van de Griend grew up in Africa, England, The Netherlands and Russia and studied drawing, painting and sculpture at the Royal Art Academy for Art and Design in The Netherlands. After her graduation she was appointed as a professor and taught at various Art Academies in The Netherlands. She gave lectures internationally, and was an artist-in-residence in France, Italy, Germany and South Africa. In Pietrasanta, Italy she studied the classical technique of carving in marble. Recently Van de Griend founded Draw Berlin and is a professor at the ESDIP, art school in Berlin. Eveline van de Griend was appointed a jury member of large exhibitions and in 2018 initiated the international exhibition ‘Neue Heimat’ together with curator Sarie Nijboer. Currently van de Griend is working on her Museum solo show titled ‘Reincarnation of Hieronymus Bosch?’ Opening in 2019.


 MARCOS MORALES is a graphic designer from Buenos Aires, Argentina currently living in Heidelberg, Germany. 9 years ago he jumped the “I can’t draw” stage by making digital collage. Nowadays, most of his work is based on a mix of collage and digital illustration. With an educational background in visual communication and branding, his collages are loaded with structures, meanings and hidden messages.


› OMAR JARAMILLO completed his architecture studies between Ecuador and Germany. His work as a landscape architect brought him to spend long periods in Italy, the Emirates and Oman. During his travels, he kept track of the journey through drawing and watercolor. In 2009 he became a correspondent member of the 'Urban Sketchers'.
In 2012 he was invited for a two month Artist-in-Residence project at the Opera House in Hannover, documenting the making of a ballet performance with his sketches. The project ended with an exhibition at the Opera House. Invitations to teach workshops in Barcelona , Tanzania and Malaga followed. His work has been exhibited in Ecuador, Italy, USA, UAE, Canada and Germany. His drawings have been published by books, newspapers and magazines around the world. Omar currently lives and works in Berlin. He is a founder and manager of the Urban Sketchers Germany chapter.
